OHP now market leader in PGRs

As a result of our partnership with Chemtura, we have become the horticulture market leaders in plant growth regulator technology. With B-Nine®, Cycocel®, and Paczol®, OHP is now the PGR expert in the market. We added Dave Barcel, formerly with Chemtura Corp., as senior technical manager. Dave conducted major research on B-Nine and Bonzi® while at Chemtura. Those who have been around a few years will recall that Chemtura (and its predecessor companies) was the marketer of Bonzi, with active ingredient paclobutrazol, for many years.

Dave brings the experience with paclobutrazol and daminozide (the active ingredient in B-Nine) with him to OHP. “You’ll see much more of a program approach to plant growth regulation in the future with the OHP PGRs, ” notes Dave. Much of that information may be found in the “Prescription Solutions” section of our website. If you click on the “Prescription Growth Solutions (PGRx)” subhead, specific rate information on different crops appears. Information is grouped into four areas:

1. Bedding plants
2. Perennial plants
3. Spring/summer potted plants
4. Fall/winter potted plants

The tables list rate information on B-Nine, B-Nine/Cycocel tank mix, and Paczol on specific varieties within a given crop in an easy-to-digest form. We’re continuing to add information to the data base.
